Online Submission of the Manuscripts
All manuscripts must be submitted on-line through the website http://jhc.mazums.ac.ir First time users will have to register at this site. Registered authors can keep track of their articles after logging into the site using their user name and password.
Preparation and submission of Manuscripts

Manuscript file should be prepared with Microsoft Office Word (2010).

The space between lines in the whole manuscript should be single,

Each A4 page is prepared in 25 mm margin in the left, right rounds and top and from the end. English text shall be writen in Times New Roman, 11pt and English title shall be written bold Times New Roman, 12pt.

English abstract shall be written in Times New Roman, 10pt
-
Persian text & Persian title shall be written in BZar, 12pt and bold BZar 14pt respectively.

As well as, author's names shall be written in BZar, 11pt.
The online submission system will direct authors during all stages of submission and provide necessary support for accelerating the submission process. The manuscript file should be supplied through the online submission system is provided below.

1. Title Page
The title page should include the names of the authors with their latest academic degrees, and the name of the department and institution, city and country where the study was conducted. If the study was conducted in several institutions, the affiliation of each author must be specified with symbols. The correspondence address should contain the full name of the corresponding author, postal and e-mail addresses, phone and fax numbers.
2. Main Text
The manuscripts submitted to our journal are classified and evaluated according to the manuscript types stated below. During preliminary evaluation, the editors assess whether a manuscript’s format and sub-headings are prepared in accordance with the journal’s guidelines. Therefore, it is important that authors check the accuracy of the main text in terms of the following.

Manuscript Types
Original Research
• Title
•Structured Abstract: It should be structured with Introduction and purpose, Methods, Results and Conclusion subheadings in Persian & English languages and should be limited to 250 words.
• Keywords: This section should contain a minimum of three and a maximum of five items in accordance with Medical Subject Headings (MESH) terms prepared by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and should be placed just below the abstract and separate the words with comma.
• Main Text: It should consist of Introduction and purpose, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion, acknowledgements and reference sections and should not exceed 5000 words excluding the references.This section sall be written in persion languages.
Explanation of each section of main text in detail:
Introduction and purpose: State the purpose and summarize the rationale for the study or observation.
Methods: this section should only include information that was available at the time the study was planned or protocol written; all information obtained during the conduct of the study belongs to the results section. Selection and Description of Participants: Describe your selection of the observational or experimental participants (patients or laboratory animals, including controls) clearly, including eligibility and exclusion criteria and a description of the source population
Statistics: whenever possible quantify findings and present them with appropriate indicators of measurement error or uncertainty (such as confidence intervals). Define the statistical methods used to analyze the variables. Define statistical terms, abbreviations, and most symbols. Specify the computer software used.
Results: Present your results in a logical sequence in the text, tables, and illustrations, giving the main or most important findings first. Data should be presented in the main text or in Figures and Tables. On the other hand, do not repeat in the text all the data in the tables or illustrations; emphasize or summarize only important observations. Extra or supplementary materials and technical detail can be placed in an appendix where it will be accessible but will not interrupt the flow of the text; alternatively, it can be published only in the electronic version of the journal. When data are summarized in the Results section, give numeric results not only as derivatives (for example, percentages) but also as the absolute numbers from which the derivatives were calculated, and specify the statistical methods used to analyze them. Restrict tables and figures to those needed to explain the argument of the paper and to assess its support. Use graphs as an alternative to tables with many entries; do not duplicate data in graphs and tables. "Where scientifically appropriate, analyses of the data by variables such as age and sex should be included.
Discussion and Conclusion: Include summary of key findings; Strengths and limitations of the study (study question, study design, data collection, analysis and interpretation); Do not repeat in detail data or other material given in the Introduction or the Results section.State new hypotheses when warranted, but clearly label them as such.
Acknowledgments: includes Brief acknowledgments of persons who have made genuine contributions to the manuscript and who endorse the data and conclusions should be included. Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to use any copyrighted text and/or illustrations.
Conflicts of Interest :All authors of submitting articles to the journal must disclose any conflict of interest they may have with an institution or product that is mentioned in the manuscript and/or is important to the outcome of the study presented. Authors should also disclose conflict of interest with products that compete with those mentioned in their manuscript. The Editor will discuss with the authors on an individual basis the method by which any conflicts of interest will be communicated to the readers. All authors must submit a statement of conflict of Interest to be published at the end of their article (conflict of Interest: non declared).
•References: The reference list should be provided following the Main Text. Limiting the number of references to 50 is usually sufficient.
•Tables, Figures and Images: They should be placed below the reference list and numbered according to their consecutive order in the main text.
Review
Reviews prepared by authors with extensive knowledge on a particular field, which has been reflected in international literature by a high number of publications and citations, are evaluated. A review should be prepared in the format describing, discussing and evaluating the current level of knowledge or topic that is to be used in the health practice and it should guide further studies.
• Title
• Abstract: It should not include subheadings and should be limited to 250 words.
• Keywords: This section should contain a minimum of three and a maximum of five items and separate the words with comma.
• Main Text: It should include Introduction, other subheadings and Conclusion sections and should be limited to 5000 words excluding the references.
• References: The reference list should be placed just below the main text and the number of references should be minimum 30.
• Tables, Figures and Images: They should be provided after the reference list according to their order of appearance in the text. .
NOTE: The corresponding author of the review article must be one of the authors of at least five articles presented in Reference section.
Case Report
Since a limited number of case reports is published, only reports which are related to rare cases and conditions, offer new methods or suggest knowledge not included in books, and are interesting and educational are accepted for publication.
• Title
• Main Text: It should include Introduction, Case Report, Discussion and Conclusion sections and should not exceed 700 words excluding the references.
• References: The reference list should follow the main text and the number of references should be limited to 10.
• Tables, Figures and Images: They should be provided after the reference list according to their order of appearance in the text and should be limited to two.
• Abstract and Keywords are not included.
Editorial: Short articles written by members of the editorial board that describe policy issues related to the journal.
Short report: Short report articles have a structure similar to research articles. These articles should be arranged in 3 pages and the results, discussion and conclusion should be integrated.
Letter to the Editor
Letters to the Editor aim to discuss the importance of a manuscript previously published in the journal. This type of manuscripts should also include a comment on the published manuscript. Moreover, articles on topics of interest to readers within the scope of the journal, especially on educational issues, can be published in the format of a Letter to the Editor.
• Title
• Main Text: It should not include subheadings and it should be limited to 1500 words (approximately 3 pages).
• References: The reference list should follow the main text and the number of references should be limited to 3-5. The volume, year, issue, page numbers, authors’ names and title of the manuscript should be clearly stated, included in the list of references and cited within the text.
• Abstract, Keywords, Tables, Figures and Images, and other visuals are not included.
B.References
All manuscripts should be accompanied by a list of relevant references. Reference should be made to locally published studies by doing proper literature search. To minimize errors in the references, author should verify them against the original documents. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the references. References should be numbered sequentially in the order of their citation in the text and inserted between square brackets, e.g. [1], [6-10]. And all of references should be write in Vancouver style of endnote software.
Example: The Reference should provide the following information as stated in the presented models as follows:

Proof Reading: JHC provides authors with an opportunity to review article proofs prior to publication with the goal of ensuring accuracy of the content. So, the article could be checked only for typographical errors and other essential small changes. Major alterations to the text can not be accepted at this stage. No changes in the name of the authors is permissible at this stage. Proofs must be returned to the Editor within 5 days of receipt.
Abbreviations and symbols use only standard abbreviations. Avoid using them in the title and abstract. The full term for which an abbreviation stands should precede its first use in the text unless it is a standard unit of measurement.
Ethical considerations must be addressed in the Materials and Methods section. 1) Please state that informed consent was obtained from all human adult participants and from the parents or legal guardians of minors. Include the name of the appropriate institutional review board that approved the project. 2) Indicate in the text that the maintenance and care of experimental animals complies with National Institutes of Health guidelines for the humane use of laboratory animals, or those of your Institute or agency.
Conflicts of interest: Authors must acknowledge and declare any sources of funding and potential conflicting interest, such as receiving funds or fees by, or holding stocks and shares in, an organization that may profit or lose through publication of your paper. Declaring a competing interest will not lead to automatic rejection of the paper, but we would like to be made aware of it.
Page charges: There are no charges for publication in this Journal.
Copyright: The entire contents of the Payavard Salamat are protected under international copyrights. This Journal is for your personal noncommercial use. You may not modify copy, distribute, transmit, display, or publish any materials contained in the Journal without the prior written permission of it or the appropriate copyright owner.
Peer review process: Journal of health research in community is a peer-reviewed journal. All manuscripts are considered to be confidential. They are peer-reviewed by at least 2 anonymous reviewers selected by the Editorial Board. The corresponding author is notified as soon as possible of the editor's decision to accept, reject, or require modifications. If the manuscript is completely acceptable according to the criteria set forth in these instructions, it is scheduled for the next available issue.
Disposal of material: Once published, all copies of the manuscript, correspondence, and artwork will be held for 6 months before disposal.
The Final Checklist:
The authors must ensure that before submitting the manuscript for publication, they have taken care of the following:
1. Title page should contain title, name of the author/co-authors, their qualifications, designation & institutions they are affiliated with and mailing address for future correspondence, E-mail address, Phone & Fax number.
2. Abstract in Structured format up to 250 words.
3. References mentioned as stated in the Instruction to Authors section.
4. Tables should be typed on separate pages.
5. Make sure for Headings of Tables, their numbers, and Captions of illustrations. Don't repeat the information in tables if it is covered in the text.
6. Photographs/illustrations along with their captions.
7. Letter of Undertaking signed by all the authors.
8. Disclosure regarding source of funding and conflict of interest if any besides approval of the study from respective Ethics Committee/Institution Review Board.
